The world's first Michelin-starred meal in space comes with a hefty price tag of $495,000.

Having a Michelin-starred meal in space is already an astronomical feat, and it comes with a sky-high price tag.

SpaceVIP, one of the pioneering luxury space-tourism companies, is set to host an immersive dining experience in space featuring renowned Danish chef Rasmus Munk.

Six adventurers will have the opportunity to "make history by enjoying the meal of a lifetime above 99% of Earth's atmosphere" during a six-hour journey, with tickets starting at $495,000 each.

Proceeds from the mission will go to the Space Prize Foundation, which advocates for gender equity in science and technology.

"This marks the beginning of a series of expeditions in collaboration with prominent artists, aimed at leveraging space travel to enhance human consciousness and promote universal space literacy," explained Roman Chiporukha, founder of SpaceVIP, to The Post.

The chef will prepare his meal aboard Space Perspective's Spaceship Neptune, hailed as the world's first carbon-neutral spaceship, during a mission slated to launch in late 2025 from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Unlike traditional rockets, Spaceship Neptune is a pressurized capsule propelled gently by a SpaceBalloon.

"Space Perspective is revolutionizing the accessibility of space exploration," remarked Jane Poynter, founder and co-CEO of Space Perspective. "Through our unique spaceflights, we are offering individuals the opportunity for a truly transformative experience—a profound shift in perspective on the world and our role within it."

As they ascend to heights of 100,000 feet above sea level, astronauts aboard Spaceship Neptune will have access to onboard Wi-Fi, enabling them to livestream their experience and connect with friends and family on Earth during their flight.

In addition to their unique space journey, travelers will have the opportunity to witness the sunrise over the curvature of the Earth in unparalleled style.

According to the CEO, Space Perspective offers the "safest and most accessible" means of traveling to space with Spaceship Neptune, boasting a "completely reimagined spaceflight experience that requires no training or special equipment." Chef Rasmus will curate imaginative dishes inspired by the role of space exploration over the past 60 years, reflecting its scientific and philosophical impact on society.

Although the specific food courses have yet to be finalized, Chiporukha assured that they will be unveiled after the next phase of expedition planning.

Chef Rasmus, whose Copenhagen-based restaurant Alchemist has garnered two Michelin stars since 2020, holds a prominent position among the world's top eateries, ranking fifth in the World's 50 Best Restaurants list.

Chiporukha spoke to The Post about the Ogier founders, Laurent and Vincent Ogier, highlighting their deep appreciation for the technological progress facilitated by space exploration, especially in the realm of materials science. Their understanding extends to the development of lightweight, durable, and temperature-regulating fabrics, which they leverage in their innovative approach to clothing design.

"This unprecedented culinary journey to the cosmos signifies a momentous milestone in human history," Chiporukha emphasized.
